Sail without owning a boat!
Don’t own a boat? No problem! Launching in Spring 2025, MSC’s Boat Share Program offers qualified Senior Members access to our shared fleet of sailboats—and the opportunity to sail alongside other members.
1. Eligibility & Certification
- Must hold a Senior Membership.
- To helm a Boat Share sailboat, you need CanSail 2 (or equivalent) certification.
- If you’re still working toward CanSail 2, you’re welcome to sail as crew under qualified Boat Share skippers.
2. Training & Mentoring
- Individual lessons are available through club-affiliated instructors (separate fee).
- Participate in our “Old Salts” mentoring program, pairing newer sailors with experienced members.
3. Shared Maintenance
As a Boat Share participant, you’re part of the upkeep: you’ll contribute toward the fleet’s care and launch activities—an excellent way to “learn the ropes.” These maintenance hours count toward your 20-hour Senior work requirement.
4. Fleet & Launch
Boats are stored on land and launched via dollies—a social, hands-on way to get afloat.
Cost Breakdown:
- $215 (Senior Membership)
- $315 (Boat Share Program)
- One-time initiation fee of $240 includes two evenings of sailing instruction
- HST applies to all fees
